LUPORTI

As debut of my blog, I would share the way I study.

Nowadays, I would like to say that 98% of students in our country are exam-oriented. They study just because of examination. I believe this statement cannot be denied.

However, I am a person who strongly disagree with the exam-oriented. We should be knowledge-oriented. Knowledge is learned to be applied. If we learn just for examination, the meaning of knowledge is lost. Unfortunately, it was what always happens. I believe most of the people forget at least 50% of things which they studied 1 month after the examination.

How most of the people study?

I would say they study in this way.

They will learn in class, or by studying through book. They might try to understand, but some don't. Well after that, they will do the exercise. When the exam is approaching, they will try to make revision and doing exercises until the exam.

Well, I think study should be conducted in this way.

L-Learn
U-Understand
P-Practice
O-Organize discussion
R-Relax
T-Train
I-Involve

Starting, as should learn and understand, after understand, we should do exercise as practice. It's the same. Well, thereafter, we should organize discussion. Yea, most people did this as well. But, they don't really conduct in the way which I think it should be. People always focus on how to getting a good result.

Well, a discussion should be raising a lot of argument.

Let say discussing about an Economy theory, we should go into how the theory comes. And furthermore to why the person who creates the theory is able to creates it? what's his background? What's his sociology and personal philosophy? and so on. Adam Smith and Keynes are two persons which are very famous in economy industry. If i oppose a question to student, 'what's the year born of both of them?' The answer I get might be 'I don't know, it's not in syllabus' or 'Doesn't need to care about it, this question won't be asked during the exam.'

Why discuss in deep is important?

It can left deep memory in our mind. and, it can let us to understand more. When the question tricky a little bit, we won't be trapped.

In additional, when we are taking harder paper, we are always ready for it.

Relax. Rest is for a further journey. Yes, it is.
Normally people will say, one day before the exam, we have to study hard.
Well, if the previous steps, LUPO is done, the day before, we have to relax. Don't worry about that. Even if want to study, study in the relaxing mood. Most people studies stressful before exam. This is actually a very wrong thing. Unnecessary can cause the brain to function under-average.

Relax should be the way. And, during the examination, it's even more important to relax yourself in order to have a fresh mind.

Train. This train isn't the transportation, but teaching. I believe people won't really know how powerful teaching and training. What I mean not getting training, but teach or train other. Most people trying to improve trough practicing only. That's actually not enough. During my F6, my account was really good. What makes my account so good? Am I doing more exercise than others? I believe I did less than others. But what I did is just teach more. If you able to teach, that only means we are really understand. If we fail to, means we aren't. Besides, we are humans, we aren't the God. There will be always a lot of parts that ignore by us. During the time that we teach others, others might oppose things that we have been ignore, and let us fix the left out.

I is for involve. We should only study for exam. After we study something, we should use it, apply it and involve yourself in the real world practice. This isn't only make you more understand but also make you prepare for the future.

Lastly, I really hope that my friends are knowledge-oriented and not fully exam-oriented. Yes, certificate is important, but knowledge is more important. If your knowledge is high, you might able to get a good certificate. If your certificate is good, doesn't mean you have a great knowledge. (no offense)
